Can therapy help and support my child?

Making the choice to seek out therapy for your child can provoke feelings of uncertainty and fear as well as confusion. In my career, parents have typically sought out support and help for their child when they themselves felt they have met roadblocks in their parenting journey and also needed support.  Other parents come to me looking for someone to provide a safe place for their child to be listened to, heard, and understood by another caring adult.

While there may be different paths that lead a family to seek therapy, therapy can always provide families and children with a safe space to grow and learn. Therapy has the ability to provide feedback and direction to both children, teens and adults in order for them to move forward during times of change and stress. Not all children that come to my office are suffering from serious mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. Many are just in need of a safe, judgement free space to work through topics like relationship issues or the pressure to do well in after school activities. In all cases I work with the family to provide individualized care, with the highest professional standards, to help my clients and their families reach their therapeutic goals.
